In Bloom
Our house looks so pretty at this time of the year. The azelea flower bushes that were planted long ago bloom every spring and provide so much color. And now that the green wave of pollen has finally subsided we can enjoy the color.

Shaking in Cary
Friday night the Alabama Shakes came to our little town of Cary and put on one hell of a rock show. I purchased the tickets back in June and the anticipation has been building all summer. It's the only time in my life I looked forward to the end of summer.
The show was everything I'd hoped it would be, a 19 song set list of pure rock n roll with a heavy dose of soul. Brittany Howard, the Shakes lead singer, is a force of nature. She has an amazing vocal range, can jam out on her guitar and has a stage presents that makes you just fall in love with her. And while she is a star, it's how good the rest of the band is that allows her to shine. These are real musicians making great music and having them play in my backyard was a real treat.
What a fabulous night.
