Friday night the Alabama Shakes came to our little town of Cary and put on one hell of a rock show. I purchased the tickets back in June and the anticipation has been building all summer. It's the only time in my life I looked forward to the end of summer.
The show was everything I'd hoped it would be, a 19 song set list of pure rock n roll with a heavy dose of soul. Brittany Howard, the Shakes lead singer, is a force of nature. She has an amazing vocal range, can jam out on her guitar and has a stage presents that makes you just fall in love with her. And while she is a star, it's how good the rest of the band is that allows her to shine. These are real musicians making great music and having them play in my backyard was a real treat.
