Curiosity Is Sending Back Amazing Photos

If I could go back in time and change one thing in my life it would be to convince my adolescent self that science is cool.  Only in the last few years have a really developed a true appreciation of science, in particular space.  If I could do it all over again I would have been a space geek.

Since it's highly unlikely NASA is going to call and offer me a job, I will have to stick to watching shows like the Universe, How the Earth was made and even Ancient Aliens to get my space fix.  Although the best space fix though comes straight from the 34-millimeter Mast Camera lens of NASA's Curiosity rover.  The images that it has been sending back are amazing on every level.

A strange object from one panoramic.
Earlier this week NASA released a breath-taking panoramic color photo showing the Martian landscape.  These images have been worth the price of Curiosity alone and I really do feel we are going to discover things that will revolutionize what we think has happened in our solar system.  Anyone that questions the investment our government makes in projects like this is a moron.  NASA has given us things like scratch-resistant lenses, memory foam and ultrasound technology.  More importantly it has allowed us to constantly evolve in our understanding of who we are and where we came from and where we are going.

I highly recommend following Curiosity on twitter for more info and cute quips like "Roads? Where I'm going, I don't need roads. Now driving toward Glenelg,".  The next few years are going to be enlightening for sure.
