Sweet on that Savannah Style

A few weeks ago I traveled down I-95 to Savannah, Georgia for a short weekday trip to check out a cool Southern city I hadn't visited yet.  I had heard it was a pretty city full of history and I wasn't disappointed.  But it was the trees that I loved the most.  The living moss growing on all the trees just gives off this amazing feeling.
Savannah is full of little square parks that are all within blocks of each other and make for a great walking tour of the city.  One of those parks is the setting for Forest Gump when he sits on the park bench and tells his story.  Sadly the bench was only put there for Hollywood so I couldn't sit down and offer anyone a box of chocolates.

The historic district is full of bars, shops and restaurants.  And it was pretty dog friendly too.  Unfortunately the nearby beach, Tybee Island, is not dog friendly and so Libs wasn't able to go out on the sand.  And if my dog isn't welcome I really don't want to be there.

It was a really nice place to visit, though I'd like to go back on a weekend in the summer and really see how the city pops.  Wonder if I could just ride my bike there...it's only about 500 miles:)
