Time Keeps On Slippin'

It may seem like no big deal but I've been looking forward to tonight's time change for weeks.  Ever since the day before our arrival in Burma, February 24th, we have been in a time zone where, in addition to ten hours, we also have to factor in a half an hour difference.  The math has been impossible.

These offset time zones are actually pretty common around the globe due to time zones being based on fifteen degree increments of longitude.  So India and Burma are a half hour difference than their neighboring countries and I get a headache trying to figure out what time it is back home.

The next few days we are sailing across some of the smoothest ocean in the world.  I remember being amazed on my first voyage how calm the water is here in the Indian Ocean and this voyage seems to be the same.  The water is like glass.  Often times the only waves are the wake from our ship as we glide across the deep blue waters.  It's a thing of beauty.
